Celebrate Chinese New Year with other Yorkshire businesses

Leeds City Council works in close partnership with the Business Confucius Institute of the University of Leeds.  The Institute is reaching out to companies across Yorkshire to join their annual networking dinner in celebration of Chinese New Year.

The annual Yorkshire and Humber Chinese New Year Dinner hosted by the Business Confucius Institute at the University of Leeds (BCI) is a fantastic opportunity for businesses to engage with Chinese culture and network with other firms interested in China.

Leeds has very strong China links, celebrating a flourishing 30-year relationship with partner city Hangzhou and home to an active Chinese community. Whether your focus is on opportunities in China or on attracting Chinese customers to your UK business, the Chinese New Year Business Dinner is where valuable connections can be made with like-minded people.

For those interested in doing business in China, guest speaker Patrick Horgan may be the star attraction. Patrick is Director of Global Government Relations for Rolls Royce and in 2007 was awarded an OBE for services to the British business community in China. Read more about him on the BCI website.

Businesses taking their first steps towards engaging more with Chinese customers here in the UK will also find the event beneficial. The BCI has been delighted to see how keen local businesses are to learn what small steps they can take to make Chinese customers feel at home. This video from the BCI explains why paying attention to Chinese customers is good for business, a message that clearly resonated with the audience at their Leeds Business Week seminar on this topic in October this year.

The Chinese New Year Business Dinner is a chance to celebrate the achievements of the past year with colleagues and clients, as well as make new connections to set you up for greater success in the Year of the Pig.

Tickets are available to buy online now.
